Text Box: With less fertilizer, this method can inexpensively produce much needed forage for August, September, and October (the slow months).

Grazing must be managed to protect Bahia grass.

See work done in 2008 with peas, etc., producing good crop yields with much less fertilizer interseeding in Bahia sod.

This field was planted the first week in May.

(Following rye grass production from previous October planting.)

Approximately 350-400 lbs., 30-11-11 fertilizer was placed directly under the seed.

(Note: Less fertilizer should have been used.)

No chemicals were used.     No soil erosion.    No fertilizer “runoff”.

Imagine the possibilities of growing “Round Up-ready” soy beans in living Bahia sod—with chemical retardant year after year and still have a Bahia harvest!

For little “input”, an amazing harvest!
