Limitations: The Plant-O-Vator® is designed to work in well established, heavy sod (root system). Like all ground engaging machines, it works best when good moisture is present and the soil can “flow”. When penetrating 4½ to 5½ inches deep in well-established heavy sod, the Plant-O-Vator® can plant through some standing grass—if the soil is not too “sticky” wet. The Plant-O-Vator® is equipped with safety shear bolts for heavy, bedded rocks. A special version of the Plant-O-Vator® can do a modified planting in heavy sod having loose rocks—if the soil is not too wet. |
